Jaffa

Jaffa (also known as Joppa) is the location where:
  • Jonah left for Tarshish (Jonah 1:3) instead of Nineveh as God commanded. It was on this ship that he was thrown overboard and swallowed by a great fish.
  • This is the port where King David and his son King Solomon used to bring in cedars of Lebanon to build the Temple (2 Chronicles 2:16, Ezra 3:7).
  • Peter raised a widow named Tabitha from the dead (Acts 9:32-40).
Here is a picture of the port.

Very cool. I'm assuming this is a port on the Mediterranean, correct? Don't get swallowed by any whales.
